Design Statement
We always love doing design work with clients when they move to a new home.
At the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic, we began working together again using our digital services in order to limit in-person meetings with the goals of taking existing furnishings from their previous home and re-creating the urban loft feel. During this challenging period, we were met with supply chain delays, lost shipments, limited stock, reduced availability of tradespersons, longer lead times, and much more - but we were determined to overcome these challenges with a positive attitude.
The goals were to update the furnishings, add built-in bench seating for storage, add decorative elements throughout, and fit out the massive rooftop deck with an outdoor kitchen and firepit. Changing the pantry swing door to a pocket door meant easier access near the kitchen! In the guest bedroom, we brought in Resource Furniture to help with a custom wall-bed, storage, and home-office solution and it turned out fantastic.
We were able to connect our clients with vendors and tradespersons who worked together (while maintaining public health orders) and everything was designed from a distance. The globalized feel and lofty aesthetic was achieved by the client with our expertise and recommendations.
