Design statement

In 2014, Corey was honoured to be invited as a Luxury Design Expert for the brand launch of DXV by American Standard and participate in the international advertising campaign. While there were many concepts that were generated in the process, Corey landed on a mix of West Coast with a New York loft and modernizing the 1940’s style. The bath design features a separate toilet and bidet, freestanding soaker bathtub, freestanding lavatory sinks with a TV mirror and smartly planned wood ledge and niche, and a zero-threshold luxurious steam shower with a movable shower seat and frameless shower glass accented by an old-growth Douglas Fir beam. The finishes include stunning wall tile by Walker Zanger, including a penny-style walnut tile featured above the lavatory sinks. Using the classic design movement and DXV’s St. George collection with towel bars and accessories, but also brings in a coastal vibe that is uniquely inspired by BC’s Sunshine Coast.

What you'll find in the spaces [Corey] designs is a full commitment to form and function: beautiful bathrooms and kitchens (the most complicated spaces in a home, BTW) which truly function because of [their] deep technical design expertise. No wonder [Corey’s] bathroom designs have garnered awards from the NKBA's annual design competitions! — Mr. Steam

In the video, you will hear Corey speak about what inspired the connections and design details for the space while keeping the space honest, authentic, and personal.
